Dr. Nils Eichenauer was born in Düsseldorf in 1982 and studied general chemistry with a focus on organic chemistry at the University of Cologne. He completed his studies successfully with his diploma thesis on synthesis of marine oxylipins and received the degree of “Diplom-Chemiker” in 2009.
In the course of his research toward his doctoral thesis at the Institute of Bioorganic Chemistry of Heinrich-Heine-Universität Düsseldorf located at FZ Jülich research centre, his work was focussed on development of new synthetic methods based on organoboron reagents and chemoenzymatic total synthesis of marine natural products. During his doctoral studies Dr. Eichenauer supervised several theses on synthetic organic chemistry and spent four months as a visiting researcher at the University of Kyoto in Japan, doing research in the field of transition metal catalysis.
Upon receiving his doctoral degree in 2014 Dr. Eichenauer pursued a professional career in the chemistry sector. Working for a contract research company Dr. Eichenauer was engaged in chemical research and development, wherein his tasks comprised the realisation of projects concerned with organic synthetic chemistry, organometallic chemistry, polymer chemistry and process development for a diverse range of customers.
The technical focus of Dr. Eichenauer ranges from general chemistry to organic chemistry and associated methods for production, analysis and processing of materials and active ingredients, also covering the biotechnological production of chemical compounds.
In 2015 Dr. Eichenauer joined our office. In 2019 he qualified as a German Patent Attorney, as well as a European Trademark Attorney at the European Union Intellectual Property Office.
Dr. Eichenauer speaks German, English and French. He and his family live in Düsseldorf.
